The Western Virginia Water Authority (WVWA) oversees water and wastewater services for several areas, including the City of Roanoke, Roanoke County, Franklin County, Botetourt County, and the towns of Boones Mill, Iron Gate, Vinton, and Fincastle. Established in 2004, WVWA was created through the merger of water and wastewater operations in Roanoke City and County, as noted by the Roanoke Regional Chamber.
